Marika

Just to remind you that:

1) You can do it

2) You are beautiful

bollywood

Last spring during my art show in Cannes, my friends Matteo and Cristina ordered a series of portraits.
Resmini Style ;)

I've painted 4 small canvas:
two of 'em came out quite good.

The other 2 were funny for me, but of course...in life there is always another chance.
(nella vita l'importante non è superare gli altri ma se stessi)

This is the result.

After travelling in India, a lot of dreams inside/out, love given and love received.
A few watercolors later...

fiore di maggio

Simone Marchetti (eu gosto das cores)

Vermelho, amarelo, azul...
Ele tem um estilo incrível!
A coisa mais bonita ... o sorriso!

While doing these portraits I was thinking in brazilian portuguese..
This is freedom!

I've been in my studio for a couple of days, really concentrated on portraits.
I'm having soooo much fun 'cause my imagination goes really fast. (as usual).

Nowadays the good vibe really smells like christmas...
I have time to do really what I like:
drawings for my friends and family, portraits of inspiring people...
I feel in a good company!

I think it's quite interesting to paint surfers, friends, fashion icons, relatives..
and give to all of them a "sameness" of the "resmini touch".
Eu gosto das cores!
luv u all

transitando (the moodboard series)

My dear cousin Elena is one of my favourite persons in the world.
In italian we say: "blood of my blood". (sangue del mio sangue).
Even thought we are very different, there is a big link between the 2 of us.
We grew up together and we used to play all the afternoon, laughing, fighting, loving each other a lot♥
Now she has a big family, and I wanted to tell her that I'm very proud of her 2 fab sons:
Olga and Ettore Carlo.
Good job girl!

Also
1) I was thinking of you from every corner of the world,
2) ti voglio bene
3) merry christmas

tua "transito"

Elle Italy, November 2012

There is a funny story related to this illustration..
A few week ago I was in Sardina island, with the crew of Onde Nostre, shooting a FAB Surf movie (entirely in 16 mm..)
http://www.block10.it/ondenostre/
When I found a mail from the art director of Elle, asking me for a drawing ASAP.
The subject? Those kind of chronic pain that occurs to women over 40.. ;)
Niiice, isn't it?
The biggest problem was that I did not have my mac, and the scanner either.
But since I HAVE FRIENDS, suddenly Amanda and the guys borrowed me their technology..
and after a few hours the image was there!
I feel very lucky to have a job - I adore - that I can bring everywhere in the world.

mano di gise vs mano di fatima = lots of colors

SHAKA MUCHACHA!

I will never be tired to talk about love.
Is the big engine of our world.

Love is "the subject".
It's freedom time, now.
Is never too late to learn how we should take care of ourself.
Being part of this world means to contribute.

Taking care of "my" people, help them, "work" with them.
For me love today is loosing myself in to others ...and after get back to me with the truth.

songs about love

The title of this post is inspired by Lauryn Hill.
In my I pod I have an amazin album "mtv unplugged" where she sings only voice and guitar.
Amazing. Pelle d'oca!

I'm in Hossegor right now, surfing and painting. Such an hard life! ;)
I consider myself very very lucky!
Recently I've been working for Elle mag.
Here is one of the sketches I've done.
It's about love.

In the last couple of days my friends made great fun of me 'coz they say I only talk about "l'amore". !
Maybe is true. But I believe we are in this world to love and share.
Love for me is not only "me and you". Is also: good friendship, respecting the nature, believing in skills and reaching goals. Love is surfing perfect waves. Love is loving the life!

Beside that, I'd like to dedicate this post to a very special man..

U were always able to make me smile and cry...u made me feel alive.
Thank u so much!!!
Miss u so much + God Bless you!

DIPLOOS

Since a few years I teach "fashion illustrations" @ IUAV University of Venice, Italy.
This post is dedicated to my beloved student Diletta ♥

She designed amazing outfits called "diplòos". (see picture)
One day she asked me to draw a few illustrations inspired by her creations.
I was in Morocco at that time and the fatima's hand (hamsa) is part of the story.
Now she is "building" a t-shirt for me... I can't wait to wear it!

Wishing to Diletta Albertini a long career full of beautiful colors...
love! NR

THE PORTRAIT PROJECT

A very important step in my creative search was when I realized how much pleasure I had realizing portraits.

When the painting looks like the person in front of me, I feel like a magician who got reach to the fundamental nature (quintessence) of the individual.
It is an alchemical process that makes me feel very close and connected to both the portrait and the subject.
Every time I travel, I sketch people I meet, and it makes books full of stories, lives and friends for me.
This is a way to keep them in my heart, as every single drawing means feelings, impressions and memories that will last forever.
The best was when a friend shyly asked me:  "Natalia... Would you do a portrait for me?"
And the story began.
Coming up next on my website: a special Portrait Section!
Stay tuned on www.nataliaresmini.com

lines

"it's all about drawing lines"
Surfing is a form of art. It's a story about sliding smootly. When I'm in the water I always imagine to draw lines in the water. The ingredients are balance, instinct and elegance. Painting is also about tracing lines on paper. This two activities are very related for me. Watercolors are "surfing" on the surface, combining colors, imagination and new forms.

Africa: fragments of images as tangible evidence of experiencesI mix the elementswater, colorshape & memory. It seems like a dream but it happened for real.
When I'm in Morocco I experience the magicThe poetic aspect of things matters very much: I always try to find poetry... It's my luxury.
The perceptions that I had taught me how to read the "nuances".

On the "first worldwe have a mathematical conception of time, so the minute it has a precise value
Days full of "I'm messyor "Today I'm sooo busy" (...)
In Africa, people have a lot of time, always.
Anyone is welcome at home, for eating, drinking and talking.

I'm not saying we should all become Africanseach has his own reality.

But the knowledge to run forever ... slows down the ride!
